“Several years ago, my mortgage company tripled in size. I went from about five loan officers to over twenty in one month. The problem was I had a bunch of new salespeople and I didn’t do any advertising. All my business came from referrals. Some of these salespeople were used to buying leads and doing traditional radio/newspaper/mailer-type advertising. I needed to start holding sales meetings and I needed to teach them my techniques for building a referral business. If I didn’t, they might not survive at our company.
