OUR MISSION
What We Do
We hope to make your next bookstore visit an enjoyable experience by providing great service, book suggestions-including staff picks, book events and a good cup of coffee.
Our mission is two-fold in that we want to encourage reading with a book in hand and giving back to our local downtown Crabapple community. We are happy to partner with you to support our surrounding areas and especially want everyone to have the experience of owning a new book. Many books have held a special place in my heart like “The Giving Tree” by Shel Silverstein; there is something about letting your emotions be exposed through a book. I hope we can help you find that special one at Poe and Company Bookstore.
OUR NAME
Named for Kate’s Father’s Love of Edgar Allan Poe
The name Poe & Company is inspired by a cherished childhood memory of Kate's. Her father had a deep love for storytelling and reading, with a particularly memorable experience being a dramatic rendition of Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Tell-Tale Heart”. This moment remains a fond memory of family time spent together. Her father’s passion for dark mysteries and his admiration for Poe and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, creator of Sherlock Holmes, left a lasting impact on Kate.
